How much do you charge?
My wedding package is $3,900 (inc. GST).
You don't have to pay for any extras. Everything is included. The only extra cost is if I am asked to stay more than 10 hours, or if travel is required (more details on that below).
- 10 hours of coverage (additional hours can be added)
- 4-5 minute short film
- 1-2 rolls of super 8 film
- Music licensing for 1-2 songs
- Uncut versions of the ceremony and speeches with audio
- Custom engraved wooden box with USB and 12 fine art prints
- Raw footage available upon request (there is no extra charge for this)
Can we meet you first to see if you're the right fit for us?
Absolutely, it's always great to catch up for coffee and a chat (or a Skype date) before locking things in. It's important that you like my style of work, but even more so that you are comfortable with me and feel like we gel. It's also a great opportunity for me to get to know you a little bit, which allows me to reflect more of your personality and character in the film.
What is your approach on the day?
I like everything to be as natural and relaxed as possible. I don't do any posing or directing, I just hang back and document all the wonderful, candid moments that unfold throughout the day. My goal is to be as discreet and unobstrusive as possible and hopefully by the end of the night you will have pretty much forgotten I'm there.
How long does it take to finish the video? Will I get to see the work in progress?
I will deliver your video within 4-6 weeks of your wedding day. I like to completely finish the film before I show it to you. It's a much nicer surprise for you that way, and I hope that if you've hired me to shoot your day it's because you like my work and trust me to create something that you will love. That said, if you want to see drafts edits along the way, then that's no problem.
How do you go about choosing music?
I license bespoke music tracks that make your video even more unique, and stop it feeling dated beyond the next Triple J Hottest 100.
I put a real emphasis on the music I choose for my films, making sure it perfectly matches the personality of my couples and the tone and mood of the day. It is actually something I spend a lot of time making sure I get right, and I feel it plays a huge part in making the film an accurate reflection of your day. I hope that when you watch my films that while they all maintain a similar style of cinematography, they are still all unique in terms of their mood, pacing and tone.
How do you get the vintage look in the videos?
As well as using shooting beautiful HD video, I also run off a few rolls of Kodak Super 8 film. Super 8 has a timeless look that is highly emotive and creates a beautiful sense of nostalgia. Also the vintage camera makes me look cool.
How do you feel about same-sex marriage?
I am excited (and relieved) that the same-sex marriage debate in Australia is over and that anyone who loves their partner now has the right to marry them, regardless of their gender.
I believe everyone is born equal and deserves the right be treated so.
Do you travel for weddings?
You bet, I'm lucky to have shot weddings all over Australia and New Zealand. I'm based in Melbourne but happy to travel anywhere and everywhere. For Victorian weddings more than 2 hours drive from Melbourne I ask for 1-2 nights of accommodation (depending on distance). For interstate and overseas trips I also ask for flights and a hire car for a couple of days. I make all of the arrangements myself and build all of the costs into my quote, so you just get a flat fee.
